CNA Classes

When you think about the medical field, chances are, you picture a hospital or long term care facility, busy with nurses and doctors caring for sick and injured patients.  What you may not realize, is that there are many other caring and talented professionals who keep everything running smoothly.  These are certified nursing assistants, or cnas, and without them, the care that patients receive would not be what it is today.  For many students hoping to enter the medical field, their Cna Classes are the first step. 

There are a few different options for those interested in becoming a CNA.  Online programs and courses are offered by several accredited institutions, as well as the certificate programs available at many community colleges. In addition, some long term care facilities offer free training with some stipulations. Which type of program a student chooses depends upon their individual schedule and preference, as all will result in the skills necessary for certification. The Cna Classes will intensively cover the many skills that a CNA will use every day, including assisting patients with their activities of daily living, such as walking, dressing, eating and bathing.  In addition, students will become familiar with how to take vital signs.  Students completing their coursework will need to successfully complete a written and skills test before becoming certified. Coursework can take up to  six months, or can be completed in  a shorter period of time for an accelerated course.  Once certified, a CNA should have no trouble finding a position.  A full time CNA can expect to earn between $13 to $16 per hour working in most facilities. 

Whether Cna Classes are used as a stepping stone to higher level medical degree programs, or as a way to gain very marketable skills in a health care facility or home care position, this training is sure to provide a student with the tools to pursue a practical and rewarding career.
